My Philosophy

I believe in play-based learning and providing children with learning opportunities, as an extension of their own individual interests. I believe that the low ratios in a home-based setting provides the best environment for safe and personalised care.

The children in my care and their families become a part of mine, and I believe in making meaningful bonds and valuing family connections, special occasions and cultural celebrations.

My Environment

I have my own house in Pukekohe with a fully fenced backyard to explore. Outside we enjoy gardens, a treehouse, slide, trikes and a sandpit. I have a separate dedicated playroom full of toys, books and resources for creative play, crafts and learning. The children are also welcome to get involved in other areas of the home such as baking in the kitchen and gardening outside.

We love heading out on our weekly outings to explore the community including trips to local playgroups, the library, parks and playgrounds, as well as occasional outings further afield to places like the zoo, trampoline park and museum.

My Training

I am currently completing my Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Home-based Care) Level 5. I have a current comprehensive first-aid certificate.
