I have been a home-based educator for 16 years. I am mum to two daughters, I love to spend time with them and create memories. I am patient, empathetic and caring. It has been a privilege over the years to be part of the lives of so many children, watching them grow, develop and meet their milestones. It's so rewarding!
I am available Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (negotiable).
I am able to do pick ups and drop offs
I have space Monday - Friday for an under or over-2-year-old.
I believe that children learn through play and that every child learns differently and at their own pace. I harness their individual strengths and interests to plan my programme.
Children should be able to have fun, laugh, and make friends in a safe and secure environment, which offers them support and opportunities to learn and grow.
I live in Westbrook, Palmerston North.
We attend music, playgroup, gym, Nga Taputapu, nature walks, library visits and museums.
I offer a range of learning activities and resources, including imaginative play items such as doctor kits, toy food, dolls, cars and trains, post office, tool and gardening kits, and more! We enjoy building with, blocks, making puzzles, integrating te reo Māori into our day and we get out in nature as much as possible.
I have completed the New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4) and I have a current first-aid certificate.
I would highly recommend you as an educator for anyone's child. C'tora was very much a mummy's girl before we met you. I thought she was going to take a while to warm up to your care, but she was comfortable straight away. She has learned so much being in your care and I'm very grateful for how you teach and treat my daughter. She loves coming to "kindy". Has made some awesome friends there, I love how you guys get out and about to go do things as I am a homebody so she gets to experience a whole lot of social interaction with other children and you. She's blossomed so much in the 6 months she has been in your care, and I'm very grateful for everything you do for her and me! Thank you Alicia 💕
Charlie has been in Alicia’s care since he was 9 months old. Alicia has provided a caring and supportive environment that has allowed Charlie to grow into a smart and kind 3 year old. She prioritises the children’s development and ensures there are resources available to meet each of the children’s needs. Alicia’s house is an extremely caring environment that feels more like a second family. The kids are able to interact with others at group activities, while having the stability and consistency of in-home care. I highly recommend Alicia as an Educator and value her immensely.
I can't recommend Alicia enough! She had my daughter Ayla for I believe just over a year before starting school, and it was such a positive experience for her nothing but great memories. Ayla is naturally a super shy girl, but she bonded with Alicia almost immediately. The transition from her previous educator to Alicia, a new environment and new children was seamless as Alicia's approach was warm and nurturing making my daughter feel so comfortable.
Alicia was incredibly accommodating to our family. Her communication was always on point, keeping me informed about any changes well in advance. Now that my daughter is 6 years old, she still talks about Alicia and her beautiful family with such fondness. Thank you, Alicia, for being Ayla's safe place while I worked!
From the moment we received Destiny into our care at 4 months old we entrusted Destiny to your care; we felt a sense of calm and confidence. Alicia, you created a truly nurturing and
stimulating environment where Destiny learned to trust and feel loved, home away from home, she has grown not only in knowledge but also in confidence and social skills, all thanks to
your patience, warmth, and dedication. We are so grateful for your positive influence on Destiny and for the care and love you provide to all the children in your care. Destiny had a really hard start to her life and would not be who she is today without your
daily care. Thank you for making such a difference.
Leesh has been an absolutely incredible carer for our son, Haare, since he was just six months old. From the very beginning, we could see how much love and dedication she pours into her work. Under her care, Haare has truly thrived—growing in confidence, learning new skills, and hitting milestones with ease.
One of the things we love most is the in-home environment she provides, which feels warm, nurturing, and like an extension of our own family. Every day is filled with new adventures, whether it’s a walk outside, group outings, gymnastics, or music sessions. The variety of experiences she offers has helped Haare develop not only physically but also socially and emotionally.
Leesh is more than just a caregiver—she’s an amazing teacher who genuinely invests in the children she looks after. Her passion for early childhood development shines through in everything she does. We are beyond grateful for the role she has played in Haare’s growth, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly to any parent looking for a loving, enriching environment for their child.
