About Me
Kia Ora! My name is Anna and I live in rural Broadfield, while only being 5 minutes from Prebbleton and Lincoln Villages! I love being part of our Broadfield community where I live with my Husband, and 4 children with our youngest now 5 years old and off to school.
I hold a New Zealand Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 5)
I am passionate about homebased care and my mission is to provide a safe, fun, and nurturing home-away-from-home where tamariki learn naturally through play
I am energetic, enthusiastic, and truly excited to welcome each child into my heart and home.

My Philosophy
Guided by a philosophy of gentle, respectful practice (RIE), I believe in creating a warm, safe, and loving home environment where children feel settled, valued and supported.
Through respectful caregiving routines, calm, responsive everyday moments, and unhurried care, I encourage tamariki to explore, learn and grow in their own way and at their own pace.
Every child is unique, so I take the time to observe and truly understand what they enjoy, creating play spaces that match their individual needs. I am dedicated to building strong, respectful, and authentic relationships with children and their families. I view parents as a child's first and most important teachers.
The low ratios of home-based care give me the time and space to understand each family's unique voice, values, and home routines, weaving them naturally into our daily routines.
By focusing on these connections and keeping communication open with whanau, children are able to have a true sense of belonging, feel safe and secure, and grow their love of learning !
My Environment
Through my programme, children will have a balanced time between home and exploring the local nature parks, libraries and regular playgroups. Being semi-rural, we are incredibly lucky to have a large property with mature trees and wide-open, natural outdoor areas that are perfect for active play and imagination.
Our backyard features a large deck area, which is great for those colder wet days especially for little ones, large open grass area with lots of space to run and play games, a jungle gym, a large sandpit and a mud kitchen for sensory exploration and water play.
Nature and the outdoors are a massive part of our daily programme. Whether we are harvesting fruit from our trees or picking veggies from the garden, caring for our busy worm farm, or bottle-feeding our pet lambs during the spring months, children learn first-hand what it means to be kaitiaki (guardians) of the land. It is a space where they can get muddy, be creative, and learn through real-world discovery.
Inside our home, there is also plenty of room for children to explore and learn. Alongside everyday experiences such as baking together, we also have a great collection of books, puzzles, blocks, imaginative play resources and plenty of loose parts which will be used every day to spark interest and joy in learning. These resources will be changed regularly to meet the needs of all tamariki and capture their ever-evolving and changing developments, interests and urges.
I believe that children teach us as much as we teach them, and I am so excited to start a new learning journey alongside your child and whānau.
