I am a trained and experienced early childhood teacher. I am passionate about children. I love to learn about each individual child and form a programme that best suits their personal interests and needs.
I am available Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm.
I currently have a space Monday, for an over-2-year-old.
I believe that working alongside a child's parents helps achieve the best outcomes for children.
It is important for children to choose their own resources and have opportunities to play and interact with each other. This helps children learn about working and playing together, also about conflict resolution - which helps children get ready for school.
I live in Dunedin. My home has a dedicated play room, full of exciting and interesting resources. We enjoy painting, arts and crafts, baking and playdates with other Tiny Nation educators.
The house has an open flow out to the garden and we have a big, covered deck where we can enjoy water play and messy play in all weathers. We use every opportunity to get outside and enjoy picnics in the garden as much as possible.
I love home-based, we get to go out and are flexible to follow individual interests in the community, providing children with real-world experiences and taking learning a step further. If a child has an interest in vehicles, for example, we can easily take a trip to the airport to extend that.
I have a Teacher's Training College Bachelor of Education (ECE) qualification. I am also qualified in child first-aid.
