I help each child to feel valued. I help them develop their strengths, interests, skills, abilities, and knowledge; to extend their learning. Security and trust are very important components for the children in my care.
I am available Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (until 3pm on Fridays).
I currently have space Tuesday and Friday for an under or over-2-year-old.
I believe that each individual child has a special and unique part to play in our world. That they need to be nurtured and loved. By giving them this support they will grow up feeling included, important and safe, knowing that they can achieve without fear and limitations.
Learning is happening all of the time, it's interwoven through all developmental domains. My goal is to make this an ongoing learning experience that is safe, positive and fun.
I am based in Invercargill, where I have created a safe, calm, warm and loving environment for children to feel at home and learn.
I offer a childcare setting where routines are unhurried, with time and space to follow the child's lead. We enjoy heuristic resources that provide children with opportunities for open-ended discovery, using loose parts. Here, children can learn, play and explore in a completely natural way. Learning through play is important to a child's sense of belonging and well-being.
I have ducks, chickens, bunnies, lambs, and a goat called Milly! I feel these animals are a great way to teach the children empathy, kindness and to build their self-esteem, enhancing social skills.
I hold the National Certificate for Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4) and I have a current first-aid certificate.
