I’m a Mum of five, with three of my children now adults and the youngest two still living at home. I’ve had the privilege of being an in-home educator for over 14 years, starting my journey with Sprouts In-Home Childcare.
As someone who loves sports, I play netball and basketball and enjoy supporting my children in their sporting activities. We have a very spoiled indoor cat named Chewi and two fish (currently nameless but they were named Jeoff and Geoff for a time there). I love exploring the outdoors and community.
I am available Monday- Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
I have space for an under or over-2-year-old child.
I encourage free play and take notice of what interests each child, using their interests to expand their knowledge through play, music and movement, reading books and art. I also like to offer the children other intentional invitations to play, and we also have the occasional mini mat-time during morning tea time 1 or 2 mornings per week, to help reinforce what’s being learnt through play.
Our home is our home and is set up that way as such. One of our bedrooms is also used as a playroom for the In-home care children where they can have free play, our living room is also a play space where we also do music. We have a indoor slide in our hallway.
Outdoors we have trikes, scooters, balls and other various outdoor activities to play and explore with.
We regularly attend playgroups, Jumping Jellybeans at the library, Te Manawa and different parks and outdoor spaces in the Palmerston North area.
I hold a Level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care , Level 4 and 5 Certificate in Te Reo and have a current First Aid Certificate. I also hold a full drivers license.
