I've been an educator for 12 years and I am mum to my miracle boy Cody. I believe in building responsive, reciprocal relationships with each child in my care and with their families, providing a true sense of belonging.
I am available Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.
I believe in empowering children to strive and achieve with my guidance and support, and celebrating their successes and milestones. I provide each child with the time and opportunity to learn through play, whilst also planning how to expand their skills, knowledge and interests.
Tiny Nation's philosophy of learning through the joy of play really resonates with me, so much is happening when a child plays.
I live in the suburb of Halfway Bush, in Dunedin.
My home supports my philosophy of open play opportunities, with a great inside/outside flow, where children can pick resources that support their current interests.
We enjoy activities around the building table and sand pit. I also like to support heuristic play and nature play.
We like to change up our learning experiences at every opportunity. We are creative, imaginative and social. I like to offer the children in my care every opportunity to learn from different experiences in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. By providing children with opportunities everything else naturally follows.
I hold the National Certificate in Early Childhood (Level 4) and a current first-aid certificate.
Words can't really express how thankful I am for you. We could not have asked for a more kind, warm, fun and loving educator for our daughter. As a parent, it's a scary thing to entrust your child to someone and I could not have dreamed we would have found someone as awesome as you to entrust her to. You have helped shape her into the confident, kind girl she is today, and for that, I am so, so grateful. Thank you for being flexible and helping our family out with mornings and school holidays too. You are an extension of our family! Thank you for all the love, care and passion you have provided her. She wouldn't be who she is today without you. We love you so much and you will always be in our hearts.
You have a massive impact on us as parents, knowing our daughter is safe and happy spending her days with you is honestly the only reason I can go to work. I know there are lots of childcare options out there but what you provide is so special, I know you love those little girls so much and it shows in how confident and happy they are with you. I couldn't trust (our daughter) with just anyone. We are so so lucky.
