With nearly 20 years of experience in the early childhood sector, my journey as an educator began when I left school and enrolled at the Wellington Nannies College. After completing my studies, I pursued a career as a professional nanny, where I gained valuable experience and skills in caring for young children. However, it wasn't until I had children of my own that I discovered my true passion for providing high-quality, home-based childcare from the comfort of my home. This personal experience sparked a desire to create a nurturing and supportive environment for other families. I'm excited to continue sharing my knowledge, skills, and love for early childhood education with the children and families in my care.

Play-based learning is at the heart of my approach, where I follow the child's lead and support their natural curiosity and interests. By doing so, I believe we can create a learning environment that is engaging, meaningful, and tailored to their unique needs and abilities.
Play-based learning is at the heart of my approach, where I follow the child's lead and support their natural curiosity and interests. By doing so, I believe we can create a learning environment that is engaging, meaningful, and tailored to their unique needs and abilities. Building secure attachments between myself and the children in my care is also a top priority, as I believe these relationships are crucial for healthy development, fostering a sense of trust, security, and confidence.
Ultimately, I believe that children are born to learn and play, and by following their interests and passions, we can foster a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
My learning environment is a peaceful and calming space, where children can feel comfortable and relaxed, free to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace. We do a lot of messy play, outside adventures, and loose parts play as well as attending our local Playcentre a few days a week. We also use the local toy library to refresh the space every few weeks! By providing a relaxed and unrushed space, I aim to help children develop a sense of trust, confidence, and self-directed learning, as they navigate the world around them.

Connie was so patient and kind with our little one, completely accommodating when he took a little while to settle in and was so open and great with communication to us! We felt every confidence bubs was safe, well looked after and in very good hands. Highly recommend. Thanks so much for your amazing care Connie
We used Connie’s home based daycare for about a year for my 2 year old and would definitely recommend Connie. She provided a safe, happy and warm environment and created some amazing play set ups for the little ones to explore :)
My daughter loved being part of Connie's home based care whānau. Connie is nuturing and developed a strong relationship with my daughter. Well resourced and always plenty of exciting play opportunities.
