About Me

My background is working with children, I have previously been a self-employed nanny for 4 years. Developing my skills in behaviour management, communication, creativity, adaptability, boundaries and nurturing. I have contributed to the development of children in my care, such as, reading, writing, crafting, baking, self-play, music and outdoor exploration.

I am married, my husband is a builder, we were both born and raised in Upper Hutt. We fellowship at Lane Park Church and have built a local community in Upper Hutt through church, hobbies and sports. I love the bush-walks, reading and socialising. I have worked with college-age youth in pastoral care and youth development as the leading youth pastor for 5 years at Lane Park Church.

My Philosophy

My philosophy is to care and nurture children as I would want my children to be cared for. That involves love and kindness, firm but respectful boundaries, plenty of learning opportunities, through play, cooking, crafting, games, puzzles, reading and socialising. I believe children thrive with routine and schedules, so they know what's coming up and don't feel interrupted all the time and know what is expected of them. I believe in lots of fun, laughter, and silliness, creating group and solo environments for play and creativity.
