Kia ora, my name is Hallie. I am a mum of four children aged 4 to 9 years. I am also a registered nurse with experience in general practice and elder care. My nursing background has given me strong skills in care, patience, and communication, which support the nurturing environment I strive to provide for children.
Playcentre has been a special part of my life for the past eight years and truly feels like a second home. Through Playcentre I completed my Level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care. My youngest daughter and I attend Playcentre three days a week -this is a place we can come together with other whanau from our community, and our children can enjoy a wide range of play-based learning experiences such as building volcanoes in the sandpit, baking scones, painting murals, singing, carpentry, and creating with clay.
I am available Monday- Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm.
I believe children are capable and curious learners who thrive in a calm, nurturing environment where they feel safe and valued. I enjoy supporting child-led play and creating meaningful learning experiences that reflect each child’s interests, strengths, and individuality. Building strong, respectful relationships with children and their whānau is very important to me. I am committed to working in partnership with families to support children’s wellbeing and development, while encouraging confidence, creativity, and a love of learning.
My home provides a calm and welcoming space for children to explore, learn, and play. Our spacious outdoor area includes an in-ground trampoline, swing set, and vegetable garden where children can enjoy active play and connect with nature.
Alongside our home environment, our regular Playcentre sessions provide a safe and supportive place for children and their caregivers to play, learn, and grow together. Combined with community outings, local park visits, and Tiny Nation events, children have many opportunities to explore, discover, and build friendships.
