I have been an early childhood educator for 11 years and I completed my Bachelor's in ECE in 2015. I am Mum to 2 school-aged children. I'm passionate about giving young children the best opportunities so that they can flourish. I enjoy the outdoors, nature and I love hiking.
I am available Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm.
I believe in building strong relationships with the children in my care and those relationships are responsive, respectful and reciprocal.
Young children all grow and develop in their own unique way. By having a strong relationship with each child I can support and empower them, by providing them with opportunities in our home environment or in the community. In my care, children have the opportunity to explore, grow, learn and discover more, as we follow their interests.
I live in Milson, Palmerston North.
I really enjoy taking my children on outings to activities that are available to us each week. I see so many benefits from these activities as children are able to express themselves, be creative, develop motor skills and socialise with others.
At home, I am passionate about having resources readily available for children to be creative, such as paper and card, pencils, crayons and chalk, and when appropriate scissors, glue and paint. I also have lots of imaginative play resources such as dress-ups, a play oven, a fruit & veg stand with a shopping trolley, plus dolls and a pretend doctors kit. I have a variety of construction resources like wooden blocks, magnetic shapes, duplo and stickle bricks. Plus resources like puzzles, books, cars etc. Outdoors children enjoy water play and lots of ride-on trikes and cars.
I have a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) qualification. I also have a current first-aid certificate.
My daughter has been in Hannah's care full-time for over 2 years now and I could not recommend her more. She is meticulous in her care for all the children; she notices their interests and builds on these to develop their language and extend conceptual ideas around their interests. Her knowledge of Te Whāriki is thorough, meaning that she can easily link play to learning. She has the biggest heart, is compassionate and is gentle but firm in her boundary setting with the children. Her communication with the children and adults is impeccable. My daughter absolutely loves going to Hannah and that in itself (but also seeing the love she has for my girl) makes leaving her with Hannah just that more bearable. There are heaps of activities that Emma (an amazing visiting teacher) and Hannah set up, such as music, nature walks and playgroup sessions. The children get a variety of exposure to new and different experiences. My daughter gets plenty of social interactions with children outside of the ones in Hannah’s care. Hannah goes above and beyond for my daughter always and has her best interests at heart. Your child will be cared for amazingly if you choose to put them into Hannah’s care.
