I’m a qualified early childhood teacher and mum of three, plus our fur baby. I’ve lived in Papamoa most of my life and love spending time at the beach, reading, exploring parks, and getting into messy play, crafts, and sport.
Our home is relaxed and welcoming, and I often refer to the children in my care as my bonus kids. I have a nurturing personality and a big heart for tamariki, and my own children share that same caring nature.
I am available Monday - Thursday, 8:30am-4pm.
My teaching philosophy is based on respectful, trusting relationships and supporting tamariki to develop agency in their learning. I follow their interests closely and encourage each child to grow into a confident, independent learner through meaningful connections.
I always try to understand learning from the child’s perspective, thinking about what they are exploring, how they are feeling, and how I can best support their journey.
Our home offers a wide variety of play experiences to support creativity and development. The garage is set up as a dedicated play space with areas for pretend play, construction, reading, dress ups, messy play, and a quiet space for infants.
We live at the end of a quiet cul de sac and often use the safe street for riding bikes and ride ons. Outside, we have a large covered deck, trampoline, playhouse, and plenty of space to run and play. A new sandpit and swings are being added soon, thanks to grandad.
We regularly walk to nearby Monticola Park and also enjoy attending Tiny Nation music sessions, the Te Puke toy library playgroup, and play dates with other educators.
I hold a Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education.
