About Me

Kia Ora, I’m Jess, I am an experienced early childhood educator with over 10 years of experience working with children and their families across a range of settings, including nannying, babysitting, centre-based care and home-based care.

As a mum, I understand the importance of creating a nurturing and supportive environment where tamariki feel safe, valued and encouraged to learn. I love working alongside families to support each child’s growth, development and individual learning journey.

My Philosophy

My learning and teaching philosophy is centered around a child-led environment where each child’s individual strengths and interests are valued and nurtured. I believe children are capable learners, and through play, exploration and meaningful relationships, they can thrive to develop a love of learning. I like to work closely with whanau to understand, support and extend each child’s interests, helping to create learning experiences that are engaging, purposeful and responsive of there unique developmental stage.

My Environment

When your child is in care with me, they will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of engaging resources with experiences that support creativity, imagination, movement and learning through play. Children can enjoy arts and crafts, music, role play, storytelling, building and hands on activities that encourage confidence and curiosity.

I have a wonderful back yard with plenty of space for tamariki to run, jump, hop and skip along with outdoor resources such as, balls, a mud kitchen, sand pit, swings and slide, bikes, and scooters. I love to get out into the community to explore the world around them. Including visits to mainly music, the library, playgroup, and other local experiences that support social, emotional and developmental growth.
