I'm originally from Samoa and have lived in Auckland for the last 39 years. I have two grown sons and I'm the proud grandma of two teenage boys. In 2011 I began my career in home-based to spend more time with my grandchildren but has turned out to be the most rewarding decision. I love working with children and building close relationships with their families. I love to see the children grow, play alongside one another, and follow their interests to further their learning and development. It is such a pleasure to see a child’s face light up when they learn something new and know that I was part of that process. Every child in my care is treated as my own.
I am available Monday- Friday, 7am-5.30pm.
I believe that learning begins at home. Home is a very special place for children, it is where they need to find comfort and security with people who they can build close relationships with that are based on love, trust, and respect. Children are the present and the future. If we nurture and care for them from an early age they can grow up and lead the world from our teaching and examples.
I live in Papakura, Auckland.
I provide a warm, welcoming, secure, inclusive and nurturing environment, that is full of love, trust, respect, and happy children.
My home is close to a large rugby field that we visit regularly to enjoy physical activities. I set up activities to meet their needs and interests.
We regularly go out to explore nature and attend community playgroups. We love to visit other fun and educational places depending on our learning theme and the children’s interests.
I hold the National Certificate in Early Childhood (Levels 3 & 4) and a current first aid certificate. I complete regular professional development courses in curriculum and child development.
