I have lived in Taranaki for 12 years, and we have a blended family of our four Children (5-15 years old). I worked in an ECE Setting for roughly 5 years as a preschool cook and teacher support, before going on maternity leave with our youngest two sons.
Since then, I have enjoyed nurturing friends' and families' children alongside my own so they could return to work. I have a passion for supporting children with neurodiversity, and my home is well-equipped for feeding sensory systems.
In the past, I have also worked with teens with different needs as an HSW and helped them reach their goals.
I am available Monday, Tuesday Friday, 7:30am- 5:30pm.
I value the meaningful connections formed between children, their families and myself. Strong, trusting relationships create a sense of belonging and help build a shared understanding of each child's needs, interests and well-being.
I believe children learn best through play and real experiences. Play allows them to explore, create, problem solve, and make sense of their world. I aim to offer rich, engaging opportunities that support curiosity and celebrate each child as a capable, unique individual.
My goal is to provide a safe, warm, and welcoming environment where children feel secure and free to express themselves. I strive to create a space where every child feels valued, supported, and confident to grow and learn at their own pace.
My home offers a quiet but busy outdoor space with plenty of room to play, explore sensory experiences, do a little bit of gardening or swing under the tree.
Inside, we have many things for imaginative play, loose parts and opportunities to create art. We have two cats and a dog.
We like to visit the reserve down the road, as well as the playground in the other direction. We like to catch buses to town to visit Puke Ariki, the library, and the ducks and Eels.
