I have been an educator for over 22 years and I have enjoyed encouraging my care children to grow and develop into confident, capable learners. I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, op shopping, traveling and spending time with my family and friends.
I am available Tuesday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm.
I currently have a space Tuesday - Friday for an under or over-2-year-old.
I'm a firm believer in the free-play philosophy but I do have routines for sleeping and eating.
I work with my families to create a programme for each child, ensuring everyone has their individual needs met. I also believe that communication is very important.
I provide an environment where each child has the space, time, and resources they need to grow and develop, to extend their learning and interests, and to explore their world. I encourage the children to spend time outside in nature by going for walks, growing vegetables and flowers, and also caring for our animals.
I live in Herbert, Oamaru with my husband and our younger two children, aged 12 and 17.
My warm and welcoming home sits on 5 acres of land. We have a fully fenced, secure area for the children to play outside and a wealth of resources to support learning and development.
We have a dog, two cats, some hens, cows, and pigs.
I hold the National Certificate in Early Childhood (Levels 3 and 4). I have a current first-aid certificate and I have attended many webinars and personal development courses during my career as an educator.
