I am a mum to two children and I have been a home-based educator for three years. I have previously worked as a Children’s Librarian at both Invercargill and Christchurch City Libraries.
I am available Monday-Friday, 7.30am-5.30pm.
I have space Monday - Friday for an under or over-2-year-old.
I am a strong believer in child-led learning. I follow and expand upon the interests shown by my tamariki. I focus on learning through play, as this has been shown to create quicker brain connections than learning in isolation.
I am based in Invercargill, where I have a large play space in a sheltered back section.
Tamariki have a dedicated playroom with lots of resources. There is a large outside area that includes a sandpit, a fort and a trampoline.
I am involved in our local Playcentre and tamariki attend sessions with me. I find this a great way to expand socialisation for tamariki with both their peers and adults.
I love to take my tamariki out to explore our wider community. This often involves visits to Queens Park, Thompsons Bush and Riverton in the summer.
I hold the National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4). I also have a current comprehensive first-aid certificate.
