Born and raised in Mount Maunganui, I have lived in Taupō for over 10 years now, have adjusted to the climate and simply adore the place! I'm Mum to three gorgeous babies - my twin girls are 8 and my son is 5. Getting thrown in the deep-end with super active twins gave me nerves of steel and a strong ability to multitask! As my preschoolers grew older I fell into home-based care because it just felt so natural and fun and not like a job at all (I really wasn't ready to leave the playdough behind!).
I am available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:00am-3pm.
I currently have space for under or over-2-year-old.
I like to keep up with current research and avidly follow Nathan Wallis. I'm passionate about creating a space that is warm, loving and safe. I encourage tamariki to feel connected to nature and each other, to grow their independence, gain real-world skills and to achieve what they need to, when they are ready to.
I live on a semi-rural lifestyle block with a cool forested gully where we can go on adventures. My home is modern and cosy with a big open-plan living area. A large fully-fenced area flows naturally from inside so tamariki can explore freely, wherever their day takes them!
Some of the things we love doing inside are puzzles, reading, singing and making music, baking yummy things to eat, building, racing vehicles, painting and drawing, playdough, making farms for the Schleich animals, caring for dolls and imagining with dress-ups.
Some of the things we love outside are the sandpit, water-play, monkey bars, trampoline, playhouse, making fairy houses and hunting for huhu grubs in the gully, feeding the guinea pigs and riding trikes and bikes.
