About Me

My journey into early child hood care and education has been a rich tapestry of experiences. After nannying overseas for 6 years, I ventured into owning two childcare centres, one in Rotorua and another in Waimaku. For the past 16 years, I have found my calling in home-based childcare, cherishing the intimate one-on-one connections that blossom between children and caregivers. My passion lies in nurturing young minds and hearts, creating a warm and supportive environment where each child can thrive and grow.

My Philosophy

My philosophy is centred on creating a supportive and nurturing environment, where children can thrive and grow. I believe that every child is unique and should be encouraged to explore their interests, talents, and curiosities. I prioritise building strong relationships with both the children and their families. I strive to create a safe and welcoming space, where children feel valued, respected and supported in their development.

I am committed to fostering a love for learning, through hands-on activities, exploration, and play. I believe that each child's individual strengths and abilities should be celebrated and nurtured to help them reach their full potential. Above all, I am dedicated to providing a caring and enriching environment where children feel empowered to express themselves, learn about the world around them, and develop important social and emotional skills that will benefit them both now and in the future.

My Environment

I am located in Oratia.

My home is a cosy haven on an acre of land where turtles, chickens, cats, fish, sheep and two border collies are part of our day. With plenty of space to explore, we enjoy community outings like playgroups, music sessions, zoo visits, beach days, and city adventures. Our playroom is filled with fun resources for endless play and creativity. Our days are filled with nature, community, and endless possibilities with lots of learning, friendships and laughter.

My Training

I hold the National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4). I also have a current first aid qualification.
