My Philosophy

My goal as a teacher is to create a rich and nurturing environment where children feel safe, comfortable, and free to explore, learn, and express themselves.

I believe that each child learns at their own pace, and with time and encouragement in a stimulating environment, they can thrive. Children are naturally curious and motivated to learn when they are given opportunities to make choices that are both challenging and engaging. They are eager to learn from their surroundings and the people around them.

As a teacher, I feel responsible for providing infants, toddlers, and young children with positive learning experiences. I strive to demonstrate patience, respect, and kindness toward every child.

I also prioritise building close relationships with each child and their families while they are in my care. My aim is to create an environment where both children and their families feel welcomed and accepted, as I believe that strong relationships are the foundation for a happy and safe learning environment.

I believe that children should have the opportunity to play independently. When children learn to play on their own, they begin to understand their own boundaries and discover what they are capable of achieving in the world.

My Environment

My home is equipped with a wide range of resources, including building blocks, arts and crafts supplies, sensory play materials, play dough, a play kitchen, baby dolls with accessories, train sets, plenty of books, puzzles, magnetic tiles, and an outdoor mini trampoline and slide. I have a spacious outdoor area where children have room to run around, along with a large concrete area perfect for riding bikes. My property is fully fenced, providing a safe space for children to explore.

We make it a priority to attend Cracker Jacks at our local library every Thursday, and we also visit the Bell Block playgroup at least once a week. During the summer, we enjoy outings to the bike park, Pukekura Park, and occasionally, the zoo.

My Training

I have a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). I also have my First Aid Certificate.
