About Me

Australian born and raised in Sydney, now happily calling New Zealand home. I’m a mum to two — a 5‑year‑old girl and a 3‑year‑old boy — and we love getting out into nature and exploring together. Staying active is a big part of my life, whether I’m playing netball, surfing, or trying something new.
I’m passionate about working alongside children, supporting their growth, and guiding them through their learning and development journey.

My Philosophy

Being a Kaiako, to me, is about creating a space where children feel truly at home. I take the time to gently get to know each tamaiti, what brings them comfort, what sparks their curiosity, and what makes them feel safe and seen. Every child arrives with their own story and their own whānau behind them, and I feel honoured to walk alongside them for this part of their journey.

In my home-based setting, I focus on warmth, connection, and unhurried time together. I want tamariki to feel relaxed, secure, and confident to explore in their own way. Building trusting relationships with both children and their families is important to me, and I value open, honest communication.

Our days are simple and meaningful, baking together, working in the garden, exploring our rural and seaside surroundings, and enjoying the beauty of the world around us. I look for each child’s natural strengths and interests and gently nurture those, supporting their growth socially, emotionally, physically, and creatively at their own pace.

Above all, I model kindness, respect, and care for each other and for our environment, so children grow with a strong sense of belonging and connection.

I’m continually learning and challenging myself with my own reflection and how I can do better in my practice.

My Environment

My resources include puzzles, blocks, Duplo, and a variety of arts and crafts materials. I also have everything needed for baking activities. Indoors, there’s plenty of space for children to dance and explore movement, and outdoors, you’ll find a sandpit, swing set, climbing dome, bikes, and scooters. I use finger puppets and books to engage children in storytelling and imaginative play.

We’re lucky to have some wonderful local spots nearby — Monkey Island Beach, the Round Hill bush track, several parks in Colac Bay, and Riverton, which is perfect for outings.

My Training

I am currently studying towards my Level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood Education and hold a First Aid Certificate.
