I am Mum to Thane and a foster parent through Open Home Foundation. I love interacting with children, I have grown up surrounded by children - my Mum was a home-based educator for 25+ years. I have worked as a caregiver with the elderly for 10+ years, which was a very rewarding job.
I am available Monday-Friday, 8am-4.30pm.
I love to let children learn through MESSY play! It is a FUN style of play where children take the lead, explore and learn with their hands and experience a wide variety of textures.
I believe that each child is an individual. As an educator, I value their differences and help develop children’s strengths and interests and extend their learning through play.
I am based in Greymouth, on the West Coast.
We enjoy a great number of resources, including balance bikes, trikes, a swing set with attachments, a small climbing frame and a playhouse outdoors. The big front section is bare, making it perfect to ride bikes around on.
Inside we have a multitude of toys suitable for a range of ages, including dress-ups, puzzles, threading, heuristic play basket, anatomically correct baby dolls, crafts, play-dough and paint.
My home is next to a dairy farm, so we also enjoy watching the cows and calves.
I am studying the NZQA National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4). I also have a current first-aid certificate.
