I’m Mum to four children, I grew up in Oamaru and love our little town. I have 14 year’s experience in home-based education and I have also done reliever work in centre-based care. I love helping children find who they are and what makes them special. I am a quiet, calm and caring person, this helps the children feel comfortable in my environment.
I am available Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm.
In February 2025 I will have a space for an under or over 2-year-old Monday - Friday.
I believe in offering a child-led programme that suits each child’s needs and interests, so they can learn at their best. We focus on being confident and competent learners and what is expected of us in social situations. We learn how to be kind and considerate of everyone around, and to include others in our play. I love to see the joy as children achieve a task and learn a new skill. I value everyone who is a part of this journey and encourage children to be themselves, as we are all different and offer something to others, everyone is deserving of a place.
I am based in Oamaru, Otago. I offer a warm and welcoming home, where each child is made to feel welcome and have a sense of belonging.
I offer a lot of open-ended play and believe that children should be able to use their imaginations to explore without limits. We love to go on walks, especially to find puddles and visit our local parks to explore.
I offer quiet time with yoga and meditation if and when the children need or request it. I adapt my programme daily for each individual child’s needs on that day and we use a local toy library to offer a large range of resources that meet these needs and interests.
I hold the national certificate for Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4) and have a current first-aid certificate. I have a Level 4 cookery certificate and have attended a Child Protection professional development course.
