Kia ora, Hello!
My name is Stacey, and I have been a passionate, qualified and registered Early Childhood educator since 2012. I have worked with a large number of diverse children and families ranging from 0-6 across NZ and Australia. I love learning about different cultures and languages, and finding ways to incorporate that within children’s everyday learning.
I am a Mum to one son, who I adore and he keeps me on my toes. I also have a 7 year old Spoodle dog named Rocket. We love to go out for walks and go to the beach when we can. When I am not being a Mum, some of my interests and hobbies include music, art, I have just started getting more into cooking and baking and I love being out in nature, particularly bird and animal watching.
I am available Monday-Friday
8:00 am - 5:00 pm
I believe children learn best through having respectful, kind and meaningful relationships with their educator. Working in partnership with a child and their family is important to build up trust and strong relationships. Being aware of a child’s cultural background is important to me, and knowing how I can best support them.
I believe in creating a safe yet challenging learning environment through play for children, which will support them in their later life skills.
In my home I have a nice open downstairs space for children to play and engage in their learning with a large variety of books, puzzles, toys and resources for imaginary play, and learning. I have a secure garden area outside where children can be easily supervised and can have access to indoor and outdoor play. I plan to eventually have areas where children can help garden and take care of the outdoor environment.
My garage area is used for art and messy play and can be utilised for another in door play space when the weather is wet.
There are some nice short walks around my house with a storm water pond that has ducks and Pukeko, and the Ponderosa Playground is nearby.
I am a NZ qualified and Registered Early Childhood teacher with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Auckland.
I also hold a valid first aid certification.
