About Me

With over twenty years of experience working with children—including extensive time in Montessori environments—I hold a Diploma of Teaching (Montessori) and have supported a wide range of age groups. I’m passionate about photography, yoga, and spending time with my beloved dog. I also love exploring Christchurch and sharing its experiences with the children in my care.

Looking Ahead

I’m looking forward to connecting with local whānau and exploring all that this community has to offer. I’m excited to welcome new tamariki into my care and continue providing a warm, respectful, and enriching home-based learning environment.

My Philosophy

My Teaching Philosophy is a mixture of Reggio, and Montessori. I love having a prepared environment for the children and also many activities available that promote independence, self help skills, confidence, showing respect all whilst having fun, feeling safe loved and cared for. I value the importance of building reciprocal relationships between children and families.

My Environment

My learning environment is pretty special, My dad and I build everything togather and are so proud of the beautiful space. I have my double garage transformed into a yoga studio and classroom for the children which is seperate from my actual house. The children have space both in and outdoors to explore, run, jump, climb and use all those energising gross motor skills. Outside I have a huge outdoor space, with lots of equipment that gets setup in different ways each week. Lots of my activities have been collected over my years of teaching and have all been well loved and are still going strong. Op shops are little treasure troves along with Creative Junk which are visited all the time to top up. Local walks around the block, catching the bus, visiting places in the community and local parks.

My Training

My qualifications are Diploma of Teaching, Apperfield Montessori Diploma, Qualified Kids Yoga Teacher, Photographer
