Hi, I’m Teigan. I began my journey in Early Childhood Education 6 years ago after discovering my passion for supporting and nurturing children in their early years. I haven’t looked back since and feel so grateful to be able to do what I love every day.
I am lucky to have an incredibly supportive husband and a wonderful little girl who gets to experience the joys of home-based care alongside me. She loves welcoming her friends into our home and being part of the fun, learning, and adventures we share.
I am available Monday-Friday,
8:30am-3:30pm (negotiable).
I currently have spaces for children over-2 -years-old.
I believe children thrive when they feel safe, loved, respected, and truly known.
My aim is to create a “home away from home” where children feel comfortable being themselves, build confidence, and are supported to explore the world around them at their own pace.
I love creating a programme that is guided by children’s individual interests, strengths, and developmental stages. I take inspiration from heuristic play and enjoy providing opportunities for children to discover, investigate, problem solve, and learn through meaningful play experiences.
Building strong relationships with children and their families is incredibly important to me. I believe working together creates the best support for each child’s growth, learning, and development.
I live in Awapuni, Palmerston North.
My home has a dedicated indoor playroom and a purpose-designed outdoor play area where children can explore, create, and learn through play.
Children enjoy a range of experiences, including our mud kitchen, sandpit, sensory play, outdoor adventures, and opportunities to follow their own interests in a safe and nurturing environment.
I hold the National Certificate in Early Childhood (Level 4) and a current first-aid certificate.
As a parent you want the most lovable enjoyable life for your children. Especially in their young years where life is full of wonders and learning.
You want to see them happy, safe, full of laughter and learning. As a first time parent Teigan was fantastic. She made it a easy task and her kindness and fun activities really is something that my son still talks about now. He adored his time with her and the other kids in her care at the time.
She gave my first boy and second daughter the most enjoyable, adventurous loveable start to his life. All the creativity, adventures, playgroups and joy was second to non. My house is still full or their arts and crafts. When it was time for my second child to start it was the same. Best care you could ask for.
A real home away from home. Teigan puts a lot of effort into each day and the kids have a adventure and love life. If you want your kids to have a great start to life, I would highly recommend her.
We truly couldn’t have asked for a better carer than Teigan. From the very beginning, she made Olive feel welcome and safe. Her warmth, patience, and genuine care for the kids shine through in everything she does.
She has such a natural way of connecting with children — Olive came home every day talking about the fun things she did, what she learned, and how much she loved spending time with Teigan.
As parents, it was so important for us to find someone we could fully trust with our child, and with Teigan, we certainly did. She created an environment that was not only educational but also nurturing, creative, and full of joy. We’re incredibly thankful for the impact she’s had on Olive and our family — we could never thank her enough!
We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to care for our son. Teigan welcomed us into her whanau and made us feel at home. c, gaining increasing confidence and resilience each week. Teigan always has an awesome plan each week, balancing days out adventuring with chill days at home, and she always provides great updates on Storypark.
We are extremely sad to be moving cities and wish we could bring her with us.
Thank you so much for the love and care you have shown our whanau.
