I was born in Taiwan and have studied Bachelor of Education specialised in early childhood education in National Taiwan Normal University. In 2019, I came to New Zealand to pursue Master of Education at the University of Auckland and focused on Te Whāriki and dramatic play in early years. I have worked in early childhood centres for 4 years and now excited for the new chapter as a home-based educator.
I currently have a space for an over 2-year-old Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Thursday to be discussed.
An additional space will be available in February, 2025
As a Mandarin native speaker, I love to bring both Mandarin and English into my teaching, especially in stories and songs. For under 2-year-old children, my main focus will be RIE philosophy, which supports me to respect children and follow their own pace to learn and explore. I am also inspired by the philosophy of Reggio Emilia, which gives me opportunities to observe and listen to children's one hundred languages. I enjoy outdoor play and dramatic play with children, so we will have lots of dancing and outdoor exploration in our everyday learning.
The environment will be vary everyday. There is an indoor space and an outdoor deck for children to explore different experiences. At the moment, we have a reading area, music area and manipulative play area. I follow children's interests and development to change the topics and resources.
